It's now done, Hello Kitty and five of her friends will join the world of web3 this summer, thanks to a collaboration between Sanrio and RECUR.
The collection, named “Hello Kitty and Friends,” will consist of 10,000 NFTs. The presale will take place on August 24, while the public sale will take place the following day.
To the adventure!
The “Hello Kitty and Friends” project aims to offer a one-of-a-kind concept to its owners, based on adventure and exploration.
Thus, Hello Kitty and her friends will act as tourist guides. It will be possible, for people with these NFTs, to collect exclusive digital objects by taking part in various challenges, across eight cities around the world.
Note, however, that two of these eight cities will only be accessible to holders of a RECUR Pass.
The cities involved have not yet been revealed but will be closer to the launch of the collection. So we will know more about this NFT game in the coming weeks. Case to follow!
A boon for Hello Kitty… and for the web3
The recent emergence of projects such as this in web3 is beneficial in many ways.
First of all, web3 contributes greatly to its democratization. Including such recognized and popular names in the “classic world”, gives a considerable spotlight to this new universe.
For example, in this specific case, the most fervent fans of the Hello Kitty franchise will necessarily be aware of this project and it can only arouse their curiosity.
And, beyond the project, some of these enthusiasts will necessarily be interested in web3 and how it works. Initially came for this collection, they will finally stay for the technology and innovation provided by web3.
As for Hello Kitty, web3 can bring a touch of modernity to its image, and offer a whole new field of possibilities in terms of concepts and events.
Of course, the financial benefit is also very important, the NFT collections can bring very big if successful (cf.: the recent collection of Nickelodeon, highlighting the Rugrats and Hey Arnold!, whose volume traded approaches 2000 ETH on OpenSea).
In short, the fact that more and more big franchises are joining this sector benefits both parties. It is also for this reason that we see more and more of them trying the experience lately, and that these are generally well received… provided you do things as they should be. This is when companies such as RECUR come into play.
RECUR, a name that stands out in the web3 landscape
If you are interested in web3, and more specifically NFTs, the name RECUR may not be foreign to you.
Indeed, RECUR, presenting itself as " your portal to the Metaverse ", collaborated, very recently, with Nickelodeon, for the launch of their NFT collection, which, as previously mentioned, has met with great success.
A partnership has also been signed with Care Bears (Les Bisounours in French) and Star Trek, which announces future collections in the same vein as that of Hello Kitty or Nickelodeon.
Obviously, RECUR wants to establish itself as a flagship intermediary between these iconic brands of web2 and web3, by allowing them to integrate in the right way.
The presence of such an intermediary is more than necessary for these brands which wish to join the movement, insofar as web3 is still a new world, but which has its own codes.
Many brands want to take advantage of it, but few know how to understand this digital revolution correctly. The presence of companies such as RECUR will allow them to make the transition in a fluid and authentic way.
